Podczas instalacji mogą się przytrafić różne sytuacje. Oto kilka najczęściej spotykanych.
- P. Instalator zgłasza komunikat BŁĄD. Nie można znaleźć pliku instalacyjnego XML w pakiecie [ERROR Could not find an XML setup file in the package.] Co jest źle?
- Odp. Najczęściej przyczyną tego zdarzenia jest nierozpakowanie pakietu VirtueMart_x.x_COMPLETE_PACKAGE.zip przed aktualizacją/instalacją. Pakiet zawiera pliki komponentu i modułów (również w formacie .zip). Do instalacji/aktualizacji trzeba użyć odpowiednich plików - komponentu dla komponentu, modułów dla modułów.
- P. The Joomla! 1.5 installer fails to install VirtueMart with the error message "There was an error uploading this file to the server.". What's the problem?
- Odp. The most common reason for this problem is that the File you have uploaded is too big. The File Size Upload Limit on your Server is set too low to allow larger files to be uploaded. By default PHP allows files up to 2 MB, but this limit needs to be set to 4 MB in order to upload the VirtueMart Component Install File.
If you have access to the php.ini, then change the directive upload_max_filesize to "4M" and reload the server configuration.
If you are running PHP in CGI mode on Apache, you can place an .htaccess file in your Joomla! root directory and place the following code inside:

- P. Instalację w Joomla 1.5 przerywa komunikat błędu - "Prawdopodobnie Twoje rozszerzenie zostało napisane dla starszej wersji Joomla!. You must enable the System - Legacy Plugin in the Plugin Manager if you wish to complete this task. Dlaczego? Czy VM jest przestarzałym komponentem?
- Odp. Zapewne usiłujesz zainstalować nieodpowiednie, np. starsze wydanie Virtuemart, niedostosowane do Joomla 1.5. Sprawdź, czy pakiet instalacyjny jest rzeczywiście przeznaczony dla Joomla 1.5 (w nazwie pliku winno być rozszerzenie ".j15.zip"). VirtueMart 1.0.x nie jest kompatybilny z Joomla 1.5, nie będzie działać, nawet jeśli włączysz dodatek Spuścizna, o którym mowa w komunikacie błędu.
- P. Instalator zgłasza komunikat Inny komponent używa aktualnie katalogu com_virtuemart [Another component is already using the directory com_virtuemart]
- Odp. Nie powiodła się poprzednia instalacja? Usuń katalogi: /site_root/components/com_virtuemart oraz /site_root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart i spróbuj ponownie zainstalować VirtueMart.
- P. Podczas automatycznej instalacji, po kliknięciu na przycisk "Wczytaj i zainstaluj" nic się nie dzieje. Co jest przyczyną?
- Odp. VirtueMart jest dużym komponentem - rozmiar archiwum z pakietem instalacyjnym przekracza 1 Mb. Możesz więc czekać dłuższy czas na wczytanie plików na serwer. Zamiast instalatora Joomla! możesz użyć Remote Installer! (zdalnego instalatora) JoomlaCode - VM_RemoteInstaller.tar.gz.
- P. What are those tar.gz files, aren't those for Unix/Linux systems only?
- Odp. tar.gz Archives come from the Unix World, but they can be used on Windows and Mac systems as well. On Windows you can unpack them using Winzip or Winrar. Gzip has a much much better compression than Zip, that's one reason why most Open Source projects use it for their distributions.
- P. Po aktualizacji z mambo-phpShop, instalator VirtueMart nie rozpoznaje tabel w bazie danych? Co zrobić
- Odp. Niekiedy nazwy tabel w bazie danych zaczynające się od przedrostka jos_ lub mos_ nie są rozpoznawane. Zanim skorzystasz z przycisku Instaluj przykładowe dane [Install sample data] albo Przejdź do sklepu [Go directly to the shop], możesz wpisać w a pasku adresu przeglądarki poniższy adres: index2.php?option=com_virtuemart&install_type=update12pl3. Po jego wywołaniu rozpocznie się procedura aktualizacji.
- P. After the installation I try to access VirtueMart, but it just prints out an error like "store is not a valid VirtueMart module...". What's wrong?
- Odp. The installation is corrupt. The registered functions and core modules, which are used by VirtueMart to check the acccess permissions are missing. You need to make sure that the tables "jos_vm_functions" and "jos_vm_modules" have been created in your database and contain records. If they are missing, you can add those tables manually by using the SQL installer file /sql/virtuemart.installation.joomla.sql. Search for those tables, copy the SQL code and paste it into the textarea in phpMyAdmin's SQL execution screen.
- P. Po zainstalowaniu dodałem w głównym menu witryny łącze - komponent VirtueMart. Ale po kliknięciu w ten odnośnik na stronie głównej ukazuje się powitalny tekst "Witaj w Washupito’s.....". Co jest przyczyną?
- Odp. VirtueMart nie jest typowym komponentem, ale skryptem. Z założenia musi być używany razem z odpowiadającym mu modułem. Bez zainstalowania i opublikowania modułu zawsze będziesz otrzymywać stronę powitalną. To jest przyczyna.
Jeśli nie zainstalowałeś głównego modułu VirtueMart Main Module, zrób to teraz. Nie zapomnij go opublikować. Ten moduł jest nieodzowny, aby wyświetlać kategorie produktów oraz inne treści generowane przez VirtueMart.
